does someone here has a copy of the tech schemo of this beast?
I will provide xeroxes of the Mini ones (along the german manual) to Morgan next week, but I have a Super 76 that needs some repair and without the schematics it's a bit too much  thanks by advance

How did you go about connecting the 5 pin din to a 1/4 inch? This is what I have in mind... I looked into the beast and it looks very difficult to insert a 1/4 inch in the small amount of space provided... unless you know an easy way to extricate the guts from the chassis. I am planning to cut one of those short 1/4 inch cords that go in between stomp boxes and connect/solder each to a midi cord that I've also cut in two. This way, I can just plug right into the Dynacord, and plug the other end wherever... Any thoughts here... I have searched high and low and they just don't make a 5 pin din to 1/4 inch mono cord... I didn't want to go 5 pin din to 3.5 inch and then have to connect the 3.5 to 1/4... too many connections! What did they do in Germany. They didn't have 5 pin din jacks in their guitars and mics.. or did they? I also have an Echolette NG51 I will need to deal with as well. will XLR's do the trick here? THANX FOR ANY HELP... I don't want to drill a larger hole for the 1/4 and install a socket... |

Merry Christmas to all.
As a matter of fact, some older German guitars do have din connection. The input 5 pin jack only have two connections (I think it is 1 and 3 pin). The problem with the din socker is that sometime they are rivetted on the front face plate. Some are machine screwed in. Even if they are machine screwed in, the hole is bigger than the standard 1/4 jack. You might have to used two bigger washers to mount the 1/4 jack to the face plate. There are 5pin to 1/4 inch adapter available but hard to find.  Morgan Lin

I was able to conquer the din pin thing.
Now, how do you hook it up to your amp? I got a good result by using the iV output directly into my power amp... like a preamp when I tried the effects or reverb loop in my preamp, or tried the 30v output, I had no luck... When used as a PreAmp it seems to work OK... I would like to loop it through my preamp however, and I plan to do the same for my Echolette 5... Any helpful hints? I know the Echolette is a preamp, but have heard people using this for echo/reverb effects as well. what is the 30v output for.... the one in between the "to dynacord amplier" and the "footswitch".... any manuals or schemes out there? I found the Super 75 online and that is probably pretty similar... |

you are correct again. they are machine screwed into the face plate. The temporary solution to test the unit was as follows... I bought a four pack of midi cords at radio shack and finally figured out that the black and red ones were hot, and the one that looks like the ground was indeed the ground. This was after looking at the wire layout and counting from left to right . Well that didn't work so there you have it. I changed the tape to some Maxell 35-90 Mastering tape I had laying around. (I just knew it would come in handy one day!) and low and behold the delay is working again... my demag is in the mail... I have hooked this up like a stomp box, looped through my preamp, and as a Preamp. When used as stompbox, I am getting quite a bit of noise on my medium and high gain channels, and the same when I loop it. When I initially used it as a straight-up preamp on one of my power amp channels, I believe it was quieter.. I will need to revisit that... But my power amp is in "stereo" so this is an issue unless I rewire things for Mono... I'm not sure, but I think the two top knobs have something to do with the level of mixing the various channels because they don't seem to do much when I use them... Also, when I run the output with the 30V, I get an extreme amount of feedback with the "Feedback Knob" the one that controls the reverb feedback or the one you turn counterclockwise... If anyone can enlighten me on the 30V, the proper setting for the small reverb output knob next to it that you need a screwdriver to turn, the two top knobs, and how yours is set up (amp/guitar/etc.) and noise level... I would be grateful. And, if I never find the magical Dynacord din to 1/4 coupler, what I should do if I don't want to mess with the female dins on the faceplate... btw, the reverb sounds different from anything I've ever heard before... my large Marshall Tray in my combo amp sounds much more Spring Reverby imo, but what do I know. is that enough reading? Dynacord = love hate can't wait to bang my head against my Klemt! |

Well...
I finally figure out how to hook it up to my Preamp... you just loop in in... the 30Mv is the imput and the 1mv is the output.... DUH! The echo level output dial on the back of the unit needs to be at around 50% or the unit will spontaneously feedback on moderate to high reverb/delay settings... The reverb is different and unique from my other spring reverb experiences, not as lush as I would like, but the echo on the fly adjuster and subtle background decay of the signal is impressive... Not as noisy as I've heard, and the tape loop motor pretty quite if you tape it correctly. I still haven't demagged, but with the new tape, so far so good. There is some distortion when you turn the "treble" and "bass" knobs that are located on the top left too far... you can get some crazy sound for sure with this one! You have to keep the delay time knob pretty low or you will get loads of repeats! I am still looking for the din coupler cuz i've just twisted the midi and 1/4 inch wires together. I am running out of rack space! this guy sits on top of my 5 space rack and I need more room for my Sonic Maximizer I used to set on top of the rack which sits on top of my cab... The Dyno looks pretty cool up there right now! Playing with the feedback and delay time on this unit is quite fun and reminds me of some Syd Barrett and Beatles stuff I've heard. |

i hae the schematis, paid 30euro for them and they are in german.
I don't have them scanned and I'm pretty busy. make me a reasonable offer or a trade and I'm sure we can work something out. the schematics hae graphics of all the seperate boards and parts placement, test oltages etc, so they are useful even if you don't speak german. as for the din connector, use a midi cable. thats a din5. cut off the end, plug it in and test your wires until you find the output . wire up a 1/4 inch plug and your in busuness. the little trimpot on the back is for input level to the reverb. if you turn it all the way up and listen to reverb output you might hear a bit of distortion on the reverb sound... adjust to taste. hope that helps kelly |
